Saddle Up and Enjoy the Ride
Whether you want to get your hands dirty or enjoy the serenity of open pastures and the great outdoors, Wilderness Trails Ranch (WTR), invites you toexperience one of Colorado’s most beautiful, secluded hideaways.
Wilderness Trails Ranch has a perfect blend of Western flavor with modern comforts, a combo that attracts not only the horse-minded, but urbanites who want a taste of the ranch life with their family and friends.
The first week of June is reserved for adults only ($1,995/pp). For those singles, couples or groups of friends, this is the week to experience the ranch and all of its activities and amenities. Three or six day stays are available for families and couples, June 8th -28th. Take advantage of WTR’s discount, ($300/pp) offered for the month of June.
Choose from 10 private cabins, comfortably furnished in mountain-rustic motif. Located on 160 acres of wilderness, each cabin has its own character and private deck where guests can experience stunning views. With a choice between two or three bedroom/two or three bath accommodations, these cabins are ideal for couples or families of 4-6 people.
“Dude ranches are an excellent value for the amount of activities you can pack in one week," explains Erika Roberts, Operations Manager and daughter of Jan & Gene Roberts owners of the ranch.
Multi-activity days can be easily accomplished at the ranch. As an all-inclusive, no gratuity added package, activity choices include: Waterskiing and tubing, hiking, yoga, hayrides, roping lessons, whitewater rafting, guided fly-fishing, and Natural Horsemanship clinics.
If parents want to explore on their own, WTR offers an excellent youth program for the smallest of wranglers (ages 3-5 and 6-10) or tough-to-please teens (11-12 and 13-17). For those in a creative mood, arts and crafts activities are available. Or, they can splash in the lake, ride their own horse for the week, fish, or take advantage of the secret kid’s Hide Out.
If that’s not enough, enjoy the use of the on-site facilities: Lap-sized, heated swimming pool and hot tub. End the day with a hot rock massage and other spa services that are also available at the ranch.
Purchased in 1970 by the Roberts family, the ranch has been a working ranch as well as a place for visitors to enjoy for the past 38 years. Jan and Gene Roberts have dedicated themselves to designing what Jan says to be, “a carefully tailored experience for our guests.”
Thanks to old fashioned values, the Roberts have demonstrated exceptional western hospitality throughout the years, helping to create lifelong memories and life changing experiences one week at a time.
Bordering the Piedra and Weminuche Wilderness areas, Colorado’s largest roadless wild places, WTR is situated in the Upper Pine River Valley, just upstream from Vallecito Lake. WTR is secluded yet easily accessible with the historic mountain community of Durango, just 35 miles away.
If you are looking for modern amenities combined with ranch-style cookouts, family dances and cattle round-ups, saddle up for the ultimate guest ranch experience.
