COLORADO HUNTING
Wilderness Trails Ranch has been owned
and operated by the Roberts family since 1970, and although we have provided quality Colorado elk hunts and Colorado deer hunts for over thirty years, we offer a guided lodge hunts and non-guided, fully set-up drop camps for archery, muzzle loader and rifle seasons. Our outfitter license is #661 and our hunting area is unit 751.

2008 Hunting Seasons
- Archery: August 30 - September 28 (drop camps available). Draw for deer and elk.
- Muzzle Loader: September 13-21 (drop camps available). Draw for deer and elk.
- First Rifle: October 11-15 (drop camps, deluxe drop camps and guided lodge hunts available). Draw for elk.

2008 Hunts
Fully-Guided Lodge Hunt: $3650/person
Available: First Rifle (October 10-16) and Second Combined Rifle (October 17-23)
Hunter: Guide Ratio is 2:1

We truly offer the finest accommodation and location of any lodge hunt in the Durango area. Enjoy access to incredible terrain as you head out before daybreak on horseback with your professional guide. Retire each evening to a hot shower, warm bed, and exceptional dinner. Quarters are private bedrooms with private or shared baths, and double or queen beds. Begin your day with a hearty, scrumptious breakfast, and then pack your lunch for a stunning day in the heart of southwest Colorado's pristine forests.
Our guides live in and work this terrain all summer and fall, and you have no better chance to be in the right place at the right time.
Cost includes lodging and meals from Friday evening through Thursday morning, 5 days of guided hunting, saddle horses, field dressing, game packing, and transporting meat to the processor. Beer, wine, and liqour are available for purchase. Airport transfer is $35/person roundtrip. Meat processing is not included.
Non-Guided Deluxe Drop Camp: $1250-$1550/person
Available: Archery and Muzzleloader (late August-September 22), First Rifle (October 10-16), and Second Combined Rifle (October 17-23)

Our fully stocked camp boasts an exceptional location near the head of East Creek, allowing hunters to access the vast upper East Creek and upper Mosca Creek drainages. A wide variety of game-filled terrain includes large meadows, waterholes and lakes, dark timbered slopes, and aspen forests. This access allows for ideal hunting during every season.
Enjoy the spectacular ride to camp, and we pack your personal gear and food. Focus all of your energy on the hunt, as your sturdy and warm camp is already set for you. We provide you with radios to contact our base, and we will also ride in to check camp intermittently.
You should be capable of field-dressing your kill and transporting it to camp for us to pack. You need to provide your own game bags.
Cost includes packing you and your gear in and out of camp, packing game from camp and transporting to the processor, heating and cooking stoves, cooking gear, wood, wall tents, outhouse, an ax, fuel, and lanterns. You provide your own food and bedding. Personal gear can not exceed 50 1bs/person. Field dressing, if necessary is $150/elk and $100/deer. Packing game from anywhere but camp is a minimum of $100.

We can pack you and your gear into most locations in the East Creek, Lion Creek, or Pine River drainages. Each job is bid individually depending on distance, terrain, and loads, but baseline prices follow:
Saddle or Pack Horses: $150/day
Wrangler: $75-$200/day
Game Packing (skinned/quartered): minimum $200
Pack Horse Load Limit: 150 lbs
Saddle Horse Load Limit: 230 lbs.
*Horses are not available for rent without a guide or wrangler.

Applications become available the last week in February--- Remember hunter safety cards are required if you were born after January 1, 1949.
