Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had at WTR. We are still going through withdrawal, missing our horses and all the wonderful people we met. There were so many things that we were impressed by: the beautiful location; the quality of your horses and what we learned about horseback riding; the great food and accommodations; the opportunity to meet other guests; and especially your staff, all so friendly and outgoing.

Ever since I was a little kid I’ve dreamed of being a cowboy and you guys made it possible. It’s easy to see why everyone comes back year after year. Maybe one day I’ll get one of those 10 year buckles, if not I’ll have my ashes sent over and you can scatter them from Vista Grande!

Thank you for a wonderful week at WTR. We all had a ball! For the great riding, great all-day rides, gorgeous scenery, wonderful horses, wild tubing/wakeboarding, delicious food, delightful fellow guests, fun wranglers, great staff, invigorating yoga, relaxing fishing, comfortable cabins, great dance, adorable rodeo. We loved everything.

The extended Dunlap family have declared our week “the best vacation ever.” Where else can 13 people of all ages do what they want in such a gorgeous setting?

I want to thank you deeply for setting up a wonderful week. The pace of each day, the options offered, the care with which you and your staff attend to even the smallest tasks, the flexibility, your unflappability, and your sincerity have combined to make Wilderness Trails Ranch a special place.

Our stay exceeded expectations. The kids were so polite, they outdid themselves. The cook—unbelievable! We can’t wait to come back! Thanks Jan and Gene—you made us feel “at home.”

I am quite sure there are many beautiful ranches in Colorado, but it would be difficult to find one with such a total package: Staff, food, horses, activities, and accommodations!

We knew a good time was to be ours at WTR, but the final result was FAR beyond our expectations. You have set a very high standard for your staff and facilities. All 18 in our family came away with a renewed enthusiasm in our lives and an imprinting of an extremely fond memory.

We were so impressed with your staff and how efficiently things were run. We said it ran like a “well-oiled machine,” but that’s not entirely true. A machine doesn’t have heart and your staff had that in abundance.

Your staff is wonderful—polite, well-trained, efficient, and enjoyable to be around.

You have set the standard of excellence in how you want the ranch run; how you want your wranglers to handle the horses and to interact with the guests; how you want the children to be challenged; and how clean you keep the place from the cabins to the tack room to the property. Our children haven’t stopped talking about their trip to the ranch and about “their horses.” Phil says it was the best vacation he has ever had with the family and is ready to do it again next year! And that’s saying a lot, considering he has bad allergies to just about anything with 4 legs, and I was the one who planned the vacation this year!

Saddle tramps children's program is excellent! My 7 year old is very happy and pleased!

I can honestly say your ranch is the best run, well organized and welcoming place I have ever been. In this day and time a place that is good, wholesome and supports family time is a rarity. I thank you all for the way the week at Wilderness Trails blessed our family.
